RMMS Receives Continued Recognition in IAM Patent 1000 – Two Firm Partners Individually Ranked

July 6, 2022 | Awards & Recognition

07/06/2022 RMMS is once again honored to have been recognized as a leading intellectual property firm in the 2022 edition of IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals, a guide to the top intellectual property law practitioners around the globe. The firm retained its strong ranking in the ‘Silver’ band for Intellectual Property Litigation. Regarding the firm’s work, IAM notes:

RMMS is one of the best firms in the country for life sciences litigation and is at the top of the list for significant cases as well as strategic advice. Its lawyers think before they speak, convey complex issues clearly and succinctly, provide careful and well-reasoned advice, are very easy to work with and treat everyone with respect.

RMMS is also pleased that two of our partners were recognized for their individual accomplishments. William Rakoczy received a Gold ranking, with IAM recognizing that:

Bill has an incredible amount of experience in life sciences litigation and special talents when it comes to case preparation and courtroom presentation. He also has a rare ability to give practical and useful legal advice to in-house lawyers and business people; executives respect him highly and seek his counsel on a wide range of matters – nobody is more trusted.

Rachel Pernic Waldron makes her debut in the IAM Patent 1000 and received a Bronze ranking. IAM notes Ms. Waldron’s biosimilar work and her stellar representation of Sandoz against Teva, keeping generic versions of Copaxone available to multiple sclerosis patients.

IAM also named RMMS partners Paul Molino, Deanne Mazzochi, Lara FitzSimmons, and Eric Hunt, for their continued legal work in the life sciences space. IAM credits Mr. Molino’s ‘fantastic job’ as managing partner generating RMMS’s ‘momentum.’ Mrs. Mazzochi is recognized for her ‘significant work at the PTAB on behalf of Apotex and has many Federal Circuit victories to her name.’ Ms. FitzSimmons ‘is appreciated for her blend of litigation and counselling skills.’ Mr. Hunt is recognized, along with Ms. Waldron, for their ‘strategic ideas’ on biosimilars and RMMS’s work ‘to win a competitive tender process for a major representation under the Biologics Price Competition and Innovation Act.’

The IAM Patent 1000 identifies the top patent professionals and firms in key jurisdictions around the globe. The guide is compiled after an extensive research process. Individuals qualify for a listing in the IAM Patent 1000 when they receive sufficient positive feedback from peers and clients with knowledge of their practice and the market within which they operate. Firms qualify for a listing on the basis of their depth of knowledge, market presence, and the level of work on which they are typically engaged, as well as positive peer and client feedback.
